They form friendships, develop rivalries, fall for each other, and sometimes can't stand each other. The journal keeps you posted on the small dramas.
Place burrows, leaf-tents, lanterns, benches, and bridges. The first three structures bring your first squirrel.
Each one has a unique personality drawn from 18 traits — Romantic, Forgetful, Brave, Loud. They form their own relationships with each other.
Spring blooms with pollen. Autumn drops red leaves. Winter whitens the ground. The light changes. Their moods shift.
Visit the meadow, the creek, the old oak. Three walks per day, thirty seconds each. Bring back materials, sometimes a shiny acorn.
Trade invite codes with people you actually know. Visit their cities. Leave a bench, a lantern, or a small note as a gift.
Squirrels age. When one passes, a small wooden marker stays where they were last seen, glowing softly. The journal honors who they were.
